chanel oiseaux de nuit

I hope you are all having a great time this year around. Running from party to party, enjoying it to the fullest! We have quite some options this year when it comes to Holiday collections and I’ve been feasting my eyes on all that beauty. While some collections have more that Christmas vibe, others are more NYE appropriate. Chanel came out with Plumes Precieuses de Chanel, a collection that can go both ways.

Remember last year’s collection? It featured the les 5 ombres palette in Charming. This year we have the same idea coming back but in completely different colours. Instead of mattes we have shimmery shades and the palette is cool toned with the exception of the golden shade.

Oiseaux De Nuit contains a range of greys, a white and an antique gold. They all have a soft shimmery finish except for the black shade, which is rather a satin. All shades have a soft texture and are pigmented and easy to work with. The grey shades have a slight purple tone in the pan. On my skin however it turns into a true grey colour but this might differ from person to person.

I was fearing that this palette might look too dusty on me but this wasn’t the case. If you balance it well enough with the darker shades and the antique gold, you will see that it looks very beautiful. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the eyshadows. They performed great and I even love it a lot more than last year’s palette in Charming. Oiseaux de Nuix is a great palette with an interesting pair of greys and a gorgeous white hightlighter. It’s quite wearable outside the Holidays too because you can soften the look down by using it with a lighter hand.
