Behold the newest addition to the Givenchy fragrance family: Dahlia Divin! The face of this fragrance is Alicia Keys and she looks divine in the campaign photographs. She’s wearing a stunning Givenchy Couture dress and it’s clear that Givenchy was inspired by the modern Goddess of today. Why Alicia Keys? She is no stranger to the House of Givenchy since she loves wearing pieces from the brand. She is also a great example of being the modern Goddess of today. She has a very successful career as a singer but is also active as an ambassador of Keep A Child Alive amongst other successful careers. The new fragrance is divine. Think delicate layers of warm gold with a very luxe feel. Givenchy wanted to create an exclusive feel with this new fragrance and that’s what you get.

The design of the bottle is very well thought. We are seeing nice clean cuts with accents of white and beige. The label has that same texture of a delicate luxurious material and you see the golden threads as an accent which you see coming back in the campaign pictures. The fragrance itself has a beautiful golden shade. The whole design is very fitting and picture perfect!

The fragrance created by Francois Demachy, no stranger to us. I personally think he does some exquisite fragrances. When you see the bottle and the vision around the fragrance you can already have some kind of sense of what it might smell like. The idea was to create something warm, sensual and delicate at the same time. The top note is Mirabella Plum. The middle notes are Jasmine and white flowers. The base notes are patchouli, sandalwood and vetiver.

Dahlia Divin opens with a very soft touch. What I immediately get is the warmth of sandalwood together with jasmine and a soft touch of vetiver. It’s a very pleasant scent and hugs you with it’s warmth. The woody notes come out to play and gives the scent a richer tone without being heavy. The white flowers are always on the background but they never play the lead role. The Mirabella Plum is a new note to me but I love it a lot. It’s very fitting for this scent and gives it a sweet touch. This is a scent that is perfectly fitting for autumn to me. It’s comforting and it gives me positive vibes. It does remind me a bit of Dior J’Adore in a way but they are still very different. They share some of the same notes giving that beautiful soft golden glow.

I also wanted to share the campaign video of this fragrance because you will see some serious eye candy. The video  en the photographs are directed by Tim Walker and we know that man has a great vision. And just look at that dress! The dress was designed by Riccardo Tisci and it took them 500 hours to make it. There is a huge amount of detail in that dress and I hope you can appreciate the beauty of it as much as I do!

  5. I thought about J’adore as well, but also Dior Addict Eau de Toilette. It’s a very different interpretation though!

  6. Love this scent! I also feel the Dior J’Adore vibe (mostly because of the golden detailing), but it is different.
