chanel fall 2014 2

Fall collections are popping up everywhere and this year’s earliest bird was definitely Chanel! ¬†While I was sweating and melting away in the tropical heat, my eye caught the early promo images of Chanel Fall Collection Etats Poetiques. It launched online on the Chanel.com site pretty quickly after that and I was still busy fighting the sun and the heat. Yes, it wasn’t easy to get myself in the fall mood but once I got there it’s kinda hard to turn back. Fall collections are without a doubt my favourite, the colour schemes are beautiful and very flattering for those with warmer skin tones (spring collections are the trickiest).

Chanel went for a poetic Fall palette. The promo images are pretty eye catching and quite daring. Playing the lead in these images are the Ombre Essentielle eyeshadows in the shades yellow, pink, plum, ivory and brown. The eye look created is very close to that of a bruised eye but Chanel managed to make it dramatic yet beautiful. I might recreate this look to see if this wearable for the average person like you and me, hah! Another stunner in the collection is the Rouge Coco Shine in Viva, it fits perfectly well with the dramatic eye. I will talk more about the looks and the collection in seperate reviews but for now we have some quick swatches and an overview of my favourite picks!

Let’s start with something interesting: the European Fall collection get’s another quad. Instead of Raffinement we get Poesie. Poesie is being promoted as a limited edition together with all the reformulated Les 4 Ombres quads in the US. Here it’s part of the Fall collection and it’s a great fit. While Raffinement might make a bit more sense since it’s a warmer palette, Poesie is another great option too. It’s a romantic everyday palette and the quality is great!

The blush that comes in this collection is the Joues Contraste in Innocence. It’s a soft plummy pink blush with a very fine milled texture. I’ve fallen in love with the Chanel blushes and even dare to say that they are one of my favourite high-end blushes in my collection!

Chanel le Vernis in Orage. Oh how I wasn’t too sure about you when I first saw you. It wasn’t love at first sight but the colour grew on me and now I’m obsessed! It’s a moody inky dark blue with a grey veil. It’s the perfect tone for fall and looks great on both tips and toes!

chanel rouge coco shine in viva

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Viva on the other hand was instant love! It’s a fun medium pink/fuchsia with a pearl. The pigmentation is higher than the average RCS and that’s why I love it so much!

The last product is Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Pulsion, a dark matte plum. I wasn’t too sure about this, but it turns out that the pigmentation is really good, especially for a matte shade! I can’t wait to use this in a look because it really flatters brown eyes!

Stay tuned for the reviews, it’s a great collection and I’m loving every single piece that I received!
