This summer there is a very fun theme going on in the Maasmechelen Village. I know that I have quite some international readers, so if you ever come to Belgium you should know about this! Maasmechelen Village is an outlet village where you can shop some beautiful brands for a great price. They often do campaigns and it’s always executed beautifully. And for this summer it’s Magritte, a Belgian artist known by his surreal artworks.

I had the pleasure to be invited over at Maasmechelen Village to enjoy the new campaign. You can take a shuttle from Brussels to Maasmechelen, which is a great option for those who are visiting the country. Once arrived you get to see a very cute little village. All the houses there are stores and you get to walk through the streets freely without having to watch the traffic because there is none.

We see quite some brands here and some of my personal favourites are Karen Millen, Hugo Boss, L’Occitane, Micheal Kors, Furla, Essentiel and so on. For a full list of all the brands you can click here. We had some great weather that day which made the experience even better! So once we arrived we went to the VIP Lounge Room to have a chat and a drink. We also had some time to hang around before we went to the new restaurant called G&G. It’s an Italian restaurant with a nice selection of pizza, pasta and salads.

I think I found Snoopy!

With our tummies full we had the chance to go shopping and admire the Magritte installations that you could find all over the village. You also see lots of benches to sit on, there are also plenty of toilets there and the shops are very cute. We’re also seeing a pop-up store that sells all kinds of Magritte products.

After that we went back to Brussels to check into the Royal Windsor Hotel. Later that evening we went out for drinks and more food at Brasserie Royal. I must say that they served some great cocktails and risotto! I called it a night after that and slept alone in a bed for the first time in many years. I’m so used to always have at least a dog or cat around! But completely alone is just plain scary, lol!

I was cleaning up my bag and found out I was carrying all these with me, oops!

The next day we had the chance to go and visit the museum to look at Magritte’s work. I must say that it has been ages ago since visiting a museum but I really did enjoyed it! It’s always interesting to see how the artist evolves through time, playing with different styles and techniques. It’s definitely worth a visit!

Maasmechelen Village is a really fun trip if you decide to visit our little country. You get a mix of art and shopping, all in nice doses. Thank you Maasmechelen Village for the nice trip!

Bye Brussels, until next time!
