clinique take the day off cleansing balm 2

Say hello to my new best friend: the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm! Clinique launched this little miracle in a pot last month here in Belgium. Now I’ve heard quite some raves about it so my interest was definitely piked. A cleansing balm is pretty new to me, it’s a bit harder to get around here because it’s not immediately available in most stores. I’d say that Clinique made a real good step with launching their own cleansing balm and I hope it starts off a trend.

So those new to the concept: what’s a cleansing balm? A cleansing balm is a literally a balm with a harder texture. When you touch it however it immediately starts to melt because it’s has a very low melting point. The balm starts to transform into something more fluid and oily. It’s perfect for removing make-up, even waterproof mascara. What I love about cleansing balms is how you can control the amount you use and where it ends up on your face. It’s also very gentle and somewhat hydrating to the skin. It doesn’t leave that uncomfortable squeaky clean feeling on the face.

The Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm is pretty much everything that I just described. It comes in a nice big purple tub of 125 ml. The best part is that the balm has no scent. You can slightly smell a oily scent but that’s about it. So how do we use it? It’s pretty simple. You just take a small amount of balm and warm it a bit between your hands. Then you gently massage it into your skin. It’s very gentle and I even use it on my eyes without any problems. When you massage it into your skin you will notice it becomes oily. After that you ust remove everything with water. The product will turn into a milky fluid. When you have removed everything you will be left with soft smooth and clean skin!

Ingredients:Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Polyethylene, PEG-5 Glyceryl Triisostearate, Water, Tocopherol, Phenoxyethanol

As you can see the ingredient list is very short and sweet. It’s perfect for those with sensitive skin. We’re seeing ingredients like Safflower Seed Oil (good at removing sebum, make-up) and Capric Triglyceride and Palmitite  (for hydration during the cleansing routine).

Do I recommend this? Absolutely! It’s amazing and I think everyone should try it! It changed my whole cleansing routine for the better and I can’t live without it anymore. I would definitely repurchase!
