Today I’m showing you some goodies from Clinique that have been brought out a little while ago. Clinique is a brand that I haven’t ventured into a lot but I do have to say that they have some really good products. So far I’ve been loving everything I’ve tried from the brand such as the famous Chubby Sticks, the Chubby Sticks for Eyes and the eyeshadows. Also, have you seen the adorable pretty blushes from the upcoming Spring collection? I can’t wait to try those! But for now we’re talking about some really nice eye make-up.

Clinique came up with the All About Shadows quads now and they come in various colours. We’re seeing hues of pink, purple, green, neutrals and ofcourse blue. Every quad comes with four complimenting shades. You can easily do a complete look with one quad because the shades vary from light, medium to dark. They come in mostly soft shimmery finishes which make them very wearable. The eyeshadows are housed in a silver little palette. The outside can be easily used as a mirrorbut the inside does have an extra mirror included. When you open the case you’ll see a little chart with an optional way to apply the shadows. You also get two little sponge applicators. The quad contains 4.8 g of product.

So this is Galaxy 11. I’ll go over the colours from left to right. First we have a pale grey blue colour. It has a soft shimmery finish and it’s the most pigmented shadow out of four. Next we have a dark navy shade. This has a rather matte/satin base with lighter blue shimmers. The texture is a little drier but it’s still really nicely pigmented. Then we have a medium muted frosty teal.My warm skin tone makes it appear more green. It’s very pigmented on the eyes but when swatched I found it applied unevenly for some reason. The last shade is a deep dark blue shade with a satin finish. It contains some tiny shimmer. This is the driest eye shadow out of all four but it works without any problems.

I was incredibly happy with this quad. To me it’s the teal shade that makes this palette stand out and work. I’m not one that pulls of blue very well but this is a quad that does work on warmer skin tones. Another very pleasant thing about the quad is that it worked like a dream. It’s by far one of the more pigmented collection of blues that I’ve worked with. The annoying part is that they feel very different when you swatch them. I find them quite tricky to swatch but once used on the eyes (especially over a primer) they blend beautifully together.

clinique quickliner

Next we have the Quickliner. I’ve heard good things about the Quickliners and I can see why. Clinique has two versions: the original and the intense one. The intense ones come in darker shades with a rich colour pay-off. These pencils come in a twist-up packaging and the other end has a smudger.

Intense Ebony 09 is a rich black with no shimmers or glitter. It has a rather matte finish. Clinique was not messing around when they said it was intense because it’s really very black! Quite interesting is the formula itself. The pencil is incredibly smooth and creamy and glides onto the skin like butter. You have sometime to move it around and this is the perfect moment to smudge and smoke it out if desired. After a little while it driesdown to a matte finish and it will stay on like that for hours. When you rub over it it does not budge! However it does remove quite easily with water and some make-up remover so don’t you worry about scraping it off later, hah!

I really enjoy both products a lot and I was really impressed with the formulas, pigmentation and the wear time. Definitely worth to look into!
