Hey lovelies! I’m pretty stoked about today’s post because I got a chance to get a very good look at Givenchy’s upcoming stuff. They are really stepping up their game! There will be two new lines added to the range: Le Rouge anf Le Vernis. The lipsticks got me really excited because they look intense! When it comes to the new designs of the those two, well they are just right on!
First we have the spring collection: Hotel Privé. It consists out of a quad, a Rouge Interdit, two lip glosses and two nail polishes. The quad is surprisingly small in real life and the packaging is just stunning! It’s a very hefty palette and everything about it just so luxurious. The palette contains three matte shades, which are really well pigmented. The fourth shade is a shimmery rather translucent shade. The idea behind the palette is actually quite neat: the threee matte shades can be used as base shades and the shimmery shade is one to layer on top of the matte shades. That way you get more variation in the palette and you can wear it just like how you feel that day! The shades seem to really blend well together. I also love that they chose some very neutral shades, this way we all get to join in on the fun!
The lipglosses are very pigmented for this collection. I really appreciate the brighter pop of colour! Then we got a Rouge Interdit in a peachy shade. I love that it’s not too pale and again, this will look great with the palette. Lastly we got two nail polishes in a grey and taupe colour. I haven’t really gotten into the world of grey and taupe when it comes to nail polish but it seems to be an upcoming trend that I’m really wanting to try.
A new addition to the range is Le Vernis. Givenchy will discontinue the old range and come with a whole new range with some really exciting shades. First of all: I really love the packaging! It has strong lines, has a bit of an edge but it all comes together just perfect with the detailing. Good news for us who struggle with the application of nail polish because Givenchy gave these nail polishes the well loved wide flat brush. They also doubled up the amount of product you’ll be getting without jacking up the price. In fact the prices is a lot better now and it makes more sense compared to other brands. You now get 10 ml for 21 euro, just like Dior for instance. The shades range from neutrals to brights to reds and the classics. There will be two limited edition nail polishes that match the two glosses from the Hotel Privé collection!
New packaging versus the old one
Givenchy is also coming out with two scents for him and for her called ‘Play in the City‘. I love the scents, it’s slightly fruity, light but sophisticated enough with some warmer notes to it.
Le Rouge must be one of the most sexy looking lipsticks out there! It’s black, is real leather and there are stud details. The whole vibe has something very edgy and sexy while breathing ‘Haute Couture’. The shades are really nicely ranged by colour family, if you see the line you’ll see that it’s very logical. You’ve got your beige and browns, the pinks, the darker pinks and the reds. There is a total of 12 colours and they all have a lovely matte finish. I can not get over the packaging, it’s love at first sight! And I’m just so pleased with the lipsticks itself too, they are gorgeous colours and finish. Bravo Givenchy, I’m impressed!
Watch out, here comes the swatching!
Beige and brown:
Swatching them was an absolute pleasure. They are so amazingly well pigmented so most of the time you just needed one swipe and voilà, you’re done! They seem to feel really creamy and there is quite some slip going on. I’m really curious about how they are going to perform on the lips but they look very promising! These will go at the price of 34.50 euro and will be available next week!
