It’s time for another Femme Boulevard post and this time it’s all about saying goodbye to 2012 and starting 2013 with style! The theme is metallic lids and vampy lids and Lily came up with the brilliant idea to invite other bloggers to join us in on the December issue. So more looks for you to enjoy! I can’t wait to see what the others did! But first let’s take a look at what I did shall we?
Now I’m not very big on the whole new years eve celebration. I guess I just never got it but I’m just fine with staying at home watching a movie and enjoying a good diner. So I’m pretty sure that I’ll be wearing next to nothing when it comes to make-up. A good excuse to go all out now ofcourse! When I think of new year’s eve I think of midnight blues, so that’s what I went for.
As for the eyes, I kinda used a mix of a lot of eye shadows! The main palette that I used was Urban Decay Smoked. First I applied the 24/7 glide on pencil in Perversion, a very deep black pencil that is included in the Smoked palette set. I used it as a base. Then I used the two main colours on the eye, on the inner part I used ‘Evidence‘ a deep blue shade and on the outer part I used ‘Rockstar‘ a dark purple shade. In between those two shades I used ‘Nocturnelle‘ from Mac and to blend the edges I used a silver Inglot eye shadow. On the lower lash line I applied ‘Rockstar’ over the 24/7 pencil. As for lashes I decided to go for some very dramatic long ones and used Eylure‘s 10th Anniversary Celebration Lash by Girls Aloud.
I kept it fairly light on the cheeks: I only used Mac Cream Blush in Something Special. For the lips I used a mix of Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in 111 in the middle of the lips with 107 on the outer edges. The colour difference is just slightly there but it creates a bit more depth! I matted it even more down with a translucent powder.
Last stop is my hair, I added some volume to it by using a flat iron. I simply curled my hair inwards on the tips and that’s it!
Sooo, do we have any fun and exciting plans for celebrating New Year? My boyfriend is working late so we have to plan everything a bit in advance. We are going to stay home and do something together. I wish you all a very enjoyable evening that day!
