Great news guys, because the Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polish got even a bit better! The nail polish collection has been around for quite some time, but since March this year they added 12 new colours! I received them to review them and to swatch them just for you! In all honesty, my nails were a bit scared, would they survive 12 shades in one day? They did but my boyfriend was not really impressed by the nail polish fumes coming from my desk, haha!
The Rimmel 60 seconds nail polish transform your nails from normal to sexy in just 60 seconds! The polishes come in 8 ml bottles and are around 6 euro. The brush is flat and wide, so you need just one or two strokes to cover your whole nail, something that I love. So what about the dry time? Well, I didn’t really timed it, but they did dry faster then the average nail polish in my opinion, which is a big plus! The 12 shades that I will be reviewing today come in a bunch of different shades, mostly creamy shades, but some do have glitters! I’m reviewing them shortly from the left to the right.
Purple Reign is a medium toned purple with subtle little purple shimmers, you can barely see them though. The shade went on quite sheer and I needed at least 2 layers for an opaque effect.
Rapid Ruby is a dark sexy cool toned red shade and it’s one of my favourites. The pigmentation is just perfect, one stroke is all you need!
Ready, Aim, Paint! is a medium red with cool undertones, I know it looks warmer on my nails, but believe me when I say it’s definitely cool, almost like there is a hint of pink in it. The coverage was perfect as well, one layer!
Sun Downer is a lighter orange with a slight tint of coral to it. It’s the perfect summery shade that you need on your nails! It also took only one or two layers for a perfect coverage.
Instyle Coral is a brightened coral shade. It went on quite sheer and I needed three layers for a good coverage. I absolutely love the shade, but I wished it was a bit easier to apply.
Sunny Days is quite an unique shade in my collection, because it’s my first yellow nail polish! It’s a very bright banana yellow with little subtle yellow shimmers. Again a very pretty shade but the formula was a bit problematic. It went on very streaky and sheer, I needed four layers to make it work!
Limalicious is a bright lime shade. It seems very popular all of a sudden because everywhere you look you see a bright lime nail polish. This went on just really nice, two layers is all you need!
Bright Back At You is a light, bright neutral blue shade. It’s one of my favourite colours because it reminds me of summer somehow, like perfect blue water and a nice blue sky! This shade was a little bit on the sheer side, but you can make it work with just two layers!
Blue Eyed Girl is a medium blue shade, it’s a type of blue I don’t own yet either. It went on perfectly well and two layers was all I needed.
Aye, Aye, Sailor is a very dark cool blue shade, it looks almost black! I have used this shade the most because it’s a perfect shade to layer other nail polishes on. It goes on very dark, even and opaque, so it’s like the perfect base colour!
Capitain Khaki is a dark khaki green, it reminds me a bit of the army colours, don’t you think? It went on smooth and perfect without any problems.
At Ease is another shade that I didn’t own before. It’s a medium neutral brown and it went perfectly opaque with just one swipe!
Time for a group picture!
I’m really happy with this collection, they have such a nice selection of various colours. The darker shades are the easiest and most pigmented to use, I especially love Rapid Ruby and Aye, Aye, Sailor. As for the brighter shades, Sunny Days was the one in the bunch that seem to be a bit tricky and Purple Reign was a bit sheer, but all the other shades were actually very nice to work with. The average wear time of these nail polishes are around 4-5 days, but it really depends on the shade. I’ve always been a fan of the Rimmel nail polishes and these are no exception! The brush is just great too, I’m not always a fan of all flat wide brushes, but these were perfect. The nail polishes have a very pretty glossy finish except for Sunny Days, the finish was a bit more mat. All these polishes are available since March, so check it out!
