Ok guys, it’s confession time! And I have to confess that I never tried a Mac lipglass before, yes yes, I know, can’t believe it either! Now I’m normally not so big on the whole lipgloss thing and I never understood why I should shell out more than 10 euro for a lipglass but now I understand. Mac recently launched the Fashion Sets, but it seems it’s not getting released here in Belgium (still trying to find out). Apparantly they released different colours for every part of the world. I fell in love with the Lipglass Girl About Town when I first saw it, but bummer, it was not available in Europe! Luckily for me the super sweet Jessica from Getting Cheeky send me one (can’t thank her enough!). So read on if you want to hear my first experience with Mac lipglass!
Mac lipglass comes in a rather simple packaging, it’s just a clear tube with a black cap. The lipglass contains 4.8 grams of product and goes for around 17 euro. The applicator is a classic doe footed sponge. You have quite a wide range of shades and there are other finishes available. The lipglass has a very pleasant vanilla scent and it has a neutral taste (as in when you accidently lick your lips, I’m not eating lipgloss). The formula of this lipglass is sticky. Now I thought I knew sticky lipgloss, but boy I was wrong, this is a whole new level of stickiness! It’s the good kind of sticky though, like wearing glue on your lips, that sticky!
Girl About Town is a bright fuchsia pink colour with tiny little silver shimmers. It’s like literally the lipgloss version of the lipstick but with the silver shimmers. What I love about this lipglass is the opaqueness, it’s just mind blowing! It goes on smooth and you just need one layer and you’re done! The shade is just pure love for me, it’s very bright and it’s a bit daring, but boy do I love this shade!
I was amazed by the weartime. Lipgloss tends to last on my for around maximum 3 hours but this lasted and lasted on me. It even survived a greasy pizza! Well that’s quite an achievement if you ask me, lol! Like I previously already said, the lipglass is very very sticky, but that’s why it’s so longlasting. The pros are that it’s glued to your lips, the cons are that your hair will stick to your lips too! It’s also not drying at all and it feels good on the lips. Again a great product by Mac, you can already tell that I’m a convert at this point. I’m definitely checking out some more lipglasses in the future, sure they are a bit expensive, but I honestly think they are worth it (or this one at least).
