I already reviewed two Rouge Caresse lipsticks, and today I’m reviewing them in two other shades.
From left to right: Rebel Red, Aphrodite Scarlet
The Rouge Caresse lipsticks are a new generation lipsticks that feels like a balm and they are available in modern and glossy colours. The formula is non sticky and light. These lipsticks have a special shape that makes applying them easier. They are packaged in a clear lipstick bullet with a golden silver tone. They cost 13.99 euro, not the cheapest drug store lipstick.
Aphrodite Scarlet is a bright cool pink with pink glitters. It leans to the red shade, but on the lips it is a raspberry pink colour. The glitters are not overwhelming on the lips, they give a nice extra dimension, but because they are pink too it’s quite subtle. It goes on kind of sheer, which makes this colour very wearable. If you put on too much, the coverage might get a bit uneven. If you have pigmented lips like me, the colour goes on subtle, they give your lips a nice pop of colour.
Rebel Red is a cool toned red with red fine shimmers. These shimmers are a bit smaller than the Aphrodite Scarlet shimmers. The colour goes on a bit more opaque, but it’s still a sheer wash of colour. On my lips the red looks more like a neutral toned red. The colour goes on even and the lipstick doesn’t creep in the fine lines of the lips. The lipstick gives you a nice shiny finish.
I really love both shades. They look quite bright but because of the sheerness, they are perfect for people who start experimenting with wearing bolder shades. They both are very comfortable on the lips and feel very light weight. The wear time of these are around 3 hours because of the slip and the balm texture. They also don’t, or barely, survive a meal. I love these lipsticks because they are in very wearable colours and they are not full on, but this is nothing for you if you prefer an opaque finish.
