From left to right: Iced Strawberry Cream, Cookies&Cream
Something I totally overlooked were the new Nude Glam nail polishes from Essence. I’m not the biggest fan of most nude colours on my nails, but these really sparked my interest. They come in seven shades and are packaged in little 5 ml bottles. They are really cheap, only 1.25 euro! The finishes vary from shimmery to frosty or creamy. They come with a classic little brush and are easy to use.
I opted for Cookies&Cream and Iced Strawberry Cream, sounds kind of delicious, right?
Cookies&Cream is a very nude light beige with little pale golden shimmers. The consistency is good, it’s not too thick or too thin. The coverage is ok, you need at least two coats for a nice even finish, but for optimal results I applied three coats. The nail polish goes on a little bit streaky, but it dries up in an even finish. On me this shade is very nude and close to my own skin colour. Personally I prefer a bit of more contrats, but this is a great nude if you have a medium skin tone like me. The shimmers are a lovely touch, they add a bit more dimension, but in a very subtle way.
Iced Strawberry Cream is a light pretty pink with a slight frosty finish. There are also little pink shimmers. The consistency of the nail polish is good but it goes on quite sheer. I needed three coats and there is still some of my own nails peeking through, but I kind of like it. Even though this nail polish has a slight frosty finish, it doesn’t goes on streaky, but you need to be a bit careful. I really like this shade, it’s my favourite out of the two because the pink is such a cute colour and the finish is just lovely.
Both nail polishes hold up to around four days, which is pretty good considering the price. They also have a very decent dry time. I must say that I can’t say anything bad about these! I also don’t mind the 5 ml bottle, because someone like me who owns a lot of nail polish will never be able to finish a bottle anyway! Go check out the other shades, they are really pretty and cheap!
