Blogging about beauty and make-up is a blast, I especially love reviewing nail polish. Removing nail polish and glitter however is a real pain sometimes. Glitter can be very stubborn to get off your nails, and I just really hate that chore because yes, it’s a chore to me.
Something new (to me) was circulating on the beauty blogs, a nail polish remover that makes the task a lot easier. I just knew I had to try it out! I have seen two versions, one from Essence and one from Kruidvat. I couldn’t find the Essecne one, so Kruidvat it is! I bought it for around 4 euro.
The remover is originally intended to remove fake nails, but you can also use it to remove nailpolish. It’s just basically a little pot filled with acetone and bristles. A very simple idea, but with great results!
The Kruidvat nail remover is a little white pot with pink details, very cute. It holds 50 ml of product and the inside is filled with little pink bristles and acetone. The smell is OK, I had far worse acetone products. It’s never a pleasant smell, so don’t think this will smell like roses or something. The idea is to dip you nail in the little pot and rub it against the bristles. I tested it with nail polish and flakies on top. Both were easily removed after a few seconds. The product is really a no brainer, just dip it in and rub. Be careful to not get the product all over the place, so be sure your finger is not dripping in acetone when you get it out of the little pot.
The bristles are not harsh, it’s a bit of a funny feeling, you know, putting your finger in something with a whole lot of little bristles. The acetone does dry your skin out, so be sure to wash your hands and moisturise them! You can use the Kruidvat nail remover a couple of times and you have to be sure to close it because otherwise the acetone will evaporate. The acetone got a bit dirty after I used it, but you can barely see it.
Behold! My bare naked nails, aaaah!
I think this is a fun little product. It really seemed a bit gimmicky at first, but it really does the job well!
