If there was one make up tool I couldn’t live without, it would be the eyelash curler. I happen to be Asian, and a lot of Asian suffer from short, straight lashes. Using an eyelash curler, it will give you a more open and wide-eyed look. My favourite has to be the famous Shu Uemura eyelash curler. This curler is perfectly designed for people who don’t have too rounded eyes. This means it’s really good for Asian people too because we don’t have deep set rounded eyes. It’s important that the eyelash curler follows the shape of your eyes, or you will pinch yourself in the eye.
The Shu Uemura eyelash curler is silver with a black pad. The big difference between the Shu Uemura one and cheaper ones is the rubber pad and the form of the curler. While cheaper eyelash curlers have rubber pads that break easily, this one lasts ages on me. The only negative point is that they don’t sell refill pads, which I find a shame.
People sometimes do not like eyelash curlers because it gives them a pinched eyelash look, but the trick is to curl two or three times. Once at the roots, once in the middle and once at the tips. A good tip is to heat up your eyelash curler with a hair dryer and curl your lashes. The curl will last longer, and they curl easier when the eyelash curler is heated (don’t burn yourself). So in my opinion an eyelash curler is a must have for people who have shorter lashes and want a beautiful curl. Shu Uemura is a bit harder to find in Belgium, you can find them here.
